Semester dates:
September 7* - December 3 | *Please note that
students should arrive in Italy on
Friday, September 7, which means that your flight from the US will depart
on the previous day (Thursday, September 6). Students should depart from Italy on the
last day of the term December 3).
It is especially important to adhere to this itinerary to facilitate transportation
to and from the Venice airport.
Program cost: $7,900 - includes tuition,
room and board, a full time resident dorm director, and travel expenses in
Italy (train, bus, or van) during programmed activities. Expenses not
included in this cost includes airfare to and from Italy, passport fees,
luggage, sleeping and personal items, snacks, gifts, spending money, and
insurance*.
*Students are required to be covered by medical insurance.
Additional travel insurance is strongly suggested, but not required.

Deadline for all paperwork and tuition payments:
August 1,
2012
Payments or paperwork received after the August 1 deadline will result
in a $100 late fee.
Fall 2012 Course Schedule, Syllabus, and Textbook Requirements:
*Textbook Requirements: A textbook list is secured and forwarded to attending students
approximately four weeks before the start of the semester. Some books will be available
to rent at the SBI campus and will be identified on the textbook list. Books needing to be
purchased are often found cheaply through Amazon with free shipping.
Auditing courses at SBI means that the student will not get credit for the
course but still is expected to attend every class, complete all homework,
and participate in all student group projects and presentations. Auditing
students are not required to take a final exam.

of evangelism. Students will study biblical examples, with emphasis
on the biblical stories of evangelism to determine evangelistic

This course provides an analysis of the Old Testament as the
foundation of the whole Bible. It focuses on the theological,
literary, and historical dimensions of the Old Testament text and
story; draws theological connections to Jesus and the New Testament;
and makes application to modern Christianity, both corporate
(church) and personal (spiritual growth). |

| Survey of World Religions |

A survey study of the main tenets of the worldâs great religions,
including among others Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism,
Islam, and Confucianism. We will survey the history of these
systems, teachings common among them, and the influence of these
religions on thought and action. We will also discuss religion in
general, its definitions and various applications of those
definitions. |

Additional courses will be added as secured. Students are encouraged to
check back regularly, especially if credits received at SBI need to
transfer back into a degree program. A student is able to receive up to 19
credits while attending SBI.
Additional 3 credit courses offered at
SBI in the past include: Acts, Romans, Mark, Church History Reformation
to Present, Survey of World Religions, Old Testament Literature, Intercultural Interpretation.
